Full Membership of the College
To become a full member of the College, a person must be registered to practise medicine or dentistry in Australia and has commenced a course in medical acupuncture approved by the College.
To apply for full membership of the College, a person must provide to the Federal Secretary:
- A completed form of membership;
- Proof of the person’s registration to practise medicine or dentistry in Australia; Such sum as is determined by the Federal Committee for membership applications.
Student Membership of the College
To apply for student membership of the College, a person must provide to the Federal Secretary:
- A completed form of membership; Proof of enrolment in an undergraduate degree in medicine or dentistry; Such sum as is determined by the Federal Committee for membership applications.
Retired Membership of the College
Overseas Membership of the College
To apply for overseas membership of the College, a person must provide to the Federal Secretary:
- A completed form of membership; Proof of the person’s registration to practise medicine or dentistry in their country of residence;
- Proof of commencement of training in medical acupuncture approved by the College.
Part Time Membership of the College
To become a part time member of the College, a person must be registered to practise medicine or dentistry in Australia and has commenced a course in medical acupuncture approved by the College.
To apply for full membership of the College, a person must provide to the Federal Secretary:
- A completed form of membership;
- Proof of the person’s registration to practise medicine or dentistry in Australia; Such sum as is determined by the Federal Committee for membership applications.
- Resident and practicing in Australia working fewer than 20 hours per week.
Within 21 days of receiving an application for membership which satisfies the requirements of that paragraph, the Federal Secretary must:
- Admit the applicant to membership of the College; or
- Refer the application for membership to the Federal Committee for determination at its next meeting.
When an application for membership is referred to the Federal Committee, it may:
- Admit the person to membership of the College; or
- Refuse to admit the person to membership of the College without giving any reasons.
If a person is admitted to membership of the College, the Federal Secretary must notify that person accordingly.
If a person is refused membership of the College, the Federal Secretary must notify the person accordingly and refund any fee paid to the College for the purposes of the application.
